The Age and Antiquity of Great Natural Limestone
Advent Design International
4/26/2007

Stone may be defined as concreted earthly or mineral matter, an aggregate of particles composed of one or more minerals.  In fact stone forms the major part of the earth's crust which may otherwise be described an igneous rock, metamorphic rock and sedimentary rock.

At Advent Design we must always be very thoughtful in choosing the right stone to create our magnificent custom baths, tubs and basins.  For example, limestone is the result of millions of years of sea shells and bones of sea creatures settling on the ocean floor and is appropriately called a sedimentary stone.  The gathering or collecting of the "sediment" continued for a period of 50 million years and ended between 200 and 300 million years ago.  The calcium in the shells and bones combined with the carbon dioxide in the water formed calcium carbonate, the basic mineral component of all limestone and marble.

Advent Design custom baths carved from limestone results in a custom bath that is often monochromatic in color and is desired by those seeking a minimalist form of purity in interior design bathrooms for the luxury bath and spa.
